The course is dedicated to members who wish to approach the use of GPS or SMARTPHONE as support in the activity of off-road tourism.
This course will focus in particular on:
- GARMIN-GPS (outdoor models such as Montana/64/276cx/700)
– APP. OSMAND
– Use of the with cartographic BASECAMP and GOOGLE EARTH.
The courses are taught by Aics instructors and guides with practical experience of GARMIN and OSMAND and intended for the maximum number of 15 participants.
The course will be divided into two days (Saturday and Sunday), both with the same program, designed to facilitate those coming from far away, optimizing travel times and costs.
This formula allows participants to choose whether to take part in just one day, based on their needs, or in both, to consolidate and deepen the concepts learned the previous day.
The course aims to provide the basic knowledge needed to use the main functions of a receiver Garmin GPS and OSMAND app. It will also delve into the use of free PC software, such as BASECAMP and GOOGLE EARTH, to exploit its potential in planning and managing itineraries.
The strong point of the course is practical learning: Participants will learn directly on their devices how to record the track of a route traveled and how to retrace it, send and receive tracks and routes from other users and configure them for navigation on the territory. It will also be possible to explore the use of PC software to manage and modify the information associated with a track or a route.
This course is ideal for gaining autonomy in creating tracks, both for short day trips and for long journeys, as well as providing the tools to navigate effectively during Adven events.touring, like the HAT Series.
The correct use of the tools covered during the course can be of great support in facing new journeys and challenges, offering the security of always knowing where we are and where we are headed.

Participation fees
The course will take place when the minimum number of 8 participants is reached.
Attendance fee course duration 1 day: 90 euros/each.
Attendance fee course duration 2 days: 160 euros/each.
