OVER2000RIDERS She believes that environmental sustainability often requires a long-term vision, but also identifies ways to implement it immediately. The goal is not only to reduce negative environmental impacts, but also to create innovative solutions that contribute to the well-being of today's society. The key objective of environmental sustainability is to balance human needs with the Earth's capacity to provide vital resources such as water, clean air, fertile soil, and biodiversity. This involves minimizing pollution, promotingoverand the responsible use of resources, protecting fragile ecosystems and adopting practices that contribute to climate change mitigation.
OVER2000RIDERS therefore aims to promoteoverand responsible tourism, encouraging its members to respect the environment and local cultures. Excursions are designed to follow marked trails and designated areas, minimizing the impact on the ecosystem. Expert guides raise awareness of the need to preserve local flora and fauna, as well as conservation practices. This educational approach helps raise awareness among participants of the importance of protecting the mountain environment and promotesoverand responsible behavior even outside of organized activities, adopting the “Leave No Trace” principle.
The specific objectives that OVER2000RIDERS has set itself the following objectives for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Policy:
- adopt ISO 20121 by respecting its requirements and principles in the management of your events;
- respect the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the UN;
- identify areas for improvement through the use of measurement tools;
- involve staff in achieving objectives;
- consolidate and improve the mutually beneficial relationship between the organization and its stakeholders;
- analyze consumption in order to maximize yields and reduce inefficiencies;
- implement technologies and processes with a lower environmental impact.
Per OVER2000RIDERS it is essential to promoteoverand raising awareness and involving all collaborators in the importance of sharing the defined objectives.
The association also undertakes to implement and maintain this Policy, communicating it to all stakeholders and subjecting it to regular monitoring.
Therefore, considering the importance of Sustainability within the Organization, in 2024, within the scope of the activities of OVER2000RIDERS It is born GoToGreen, a project that brings together all ODR activities related to Sustainability (Environmental – Social – Governance) to tangibly direct its activity, through:
- Methods and Processes of the ISO 20121 certification
- Sustainability Report according to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
- Application of Code of Ethics as a daily self-assessment
- GoToGreen has implemented, first of all, a Management System compliant with ISO 20121, which focuses on sustainable event management through some founding principles: inclusivity, integrity, responsible management, transparency and legacy.
This international standard provides a rigorous framework for planning, managing, and continuously improving events sustainably, ensuring that the association's activities are aligned with the highest sustainability standards.
As part of GoToGreen, OVER2000RIDERS then decides, voluntarily, to adapt, in 2025, to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the 2023 directive that makes organizations' sustainability information clearer and more uniform.
The goal is to ensure that different types of stakeholders have access to the information they need to evaluate the impact of corporate strategies and actions on people and the environment.
Under the CSRD, organizations will have to report according to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) with the aim of having clear, uniform and above all comparable criteria for the three defined areas, Environment – Social – Governance.
Another fundamental perspective of GoToGreen becomes the Code of Ethics , which no longer represents a mere exercise of good will and good intentions, but becomes an ongoing self-assessment to self-evaluate the intentions, attitudes, and behaviors of all those who participate in any capacity in the life of the Organization.
